On my mission I have learned this golden truth that will change who I am forever. God Knows us. He knows what our potential is and He knows what he wants us to be. This life is our chance for him to mold us. He gives us experiences and trials that will mold us, if we allow them to, into that which he wants us to be. We must conform to the touch of His hand, to His will. The hand of the Lord is to be seen in every aspect of our lives. This life is an opportunity to change, it is an opportunity to grow. I have learned that we must follow Gods will at all times and at all costs. As His will becomes our will we become what He sees we can become. I have learned many valuable lessons on my mission. I learned the importance of following God's will. I have been able to hand my will to God these past two years. I hope and pray that I will be able to continue lending my will to God. I learned the importance of setting goals. President Stoker taught me an excellent pattern for setting goals. He encouraged me to create a Vision for my life, to create goals that flow into that vision and then to expound on that goal by creating plans and actions. With much prayer and pondering and by studying my patriarchal blessing I was able to create a plan for my future. I learned the importance of seeking the Lords guidance through prayer. I have had the opportunity to see my prayers change throughout my mission from a rote recitation to a true conversation with the Lord. I am sad that this two year mission is coming to a close but I am excited for what the future has in store for me.
I have a
much longer version of my golden truth that I will be typing up when I
get home. If anyone would like the full version just let me know and I
will send it to you.
I am writing this email earlier than I ever do because my travel plans have changed. Usually we have a transfer meeting on Tuesday
where the departing missionaries are able to share their golden truths
in front of the mission. Due to weather the meeting is being postponed
to Thursday. We are leaving for Manchester at 12:30 today, which will be really exciting.
